The “State Bedroom” at @houghton_hall in Norfolk.⠀

Houghton Hall was built in the 1720s for the 1st Prime Minister Sir Robert Warpole. The State Rooms on the first floor were decorated by William Kent. This room features the famous Shell bed, that was hung with green velvet panels, and detailed with silver gilt embroidery and fringing. The Venus’s shell on the headboard is echoed throughout the room on the ceiling, tapestries and fireplace. ⠀
