Love of Learning
This home is located in Concord, Massachusetts––the birthplace of the 19th-century Transcendentalism movement.
The homeowner, an educator and dealer of rare-books and manuscripts, feels a kinship with the beliefs of Thoreau and Emerson. His appreciation of history, learning, and authenticity are reflected in the space, which is filled with antiques, books, and international artwork.
Different cultures and time periods share this space: a Colonial trade bed, an Italian Baroque armchair and various Rwandan sculptures collected during the owner’s time teaching in Africa.
