Daniel Webster’s Music Room

In 2005 I was invited to decorate the Music Room of the Daniel Webster Estate and Heritage Center in Marshfield, Massachusetts. Located in the main front parlor of the house, it was the only room retaining original period detail.

The existing wallpaper frieze inspired my subsequent design choices. While other designers were unsure how to work with the existing decor, particularly the Japanese-style frieze, I found it resonated with my signature style.

Press coverage of the newly decorated space referred to my design as “Victorian on acid” and “channeling Madeleine Castaing.”
